If you’re like most parents, you’ll probably get lots of diapers early on from friends and family. You’ll get Luvs, Pampers Swaddlers, Cruisers & Baby Dry. Each one will have a slightly different feel, look, and fit on your baby. While there is a lot of personal preference involved in choosing the best diaper for your baby, we did some of our own research and found which ones we like best . Keep in mind, that these are your “everyday diaper,” and not meant for overnight diapers (we’ll look into those next!).
Pampers Swaddlers vs Cruisers vs Baby Dry: Odor Protection
If you’ve already read our review on the best diaper pails on the market, then you know that odors are unavoidable when it comes to diapers and diaper pails. However, there is some subtle differences between Pampers Swaddlers, Cruisers & Baby Dry in terms of odor protection. You’ll find that both Pampers Swaddlers & Cruisers are a lot alike in a lot of ways, and both have a subtle baby powder scent that masks dirty diapers smells a bit. The Baby Dry diapers are a little more generic, and don’t cover up the smells as well.
Pampers Swaddlers vs Cruisers vs Baby Dry: Sizes
In short, the biggest difference in size is that Swaddlers are for newborns and younger babies, while Cruisers are for slightly older babies and toddlers. Baby Dry diapers range in sizes and are good for babies of (nearly) all ages.
- Pampers Swaddlers: Newborn, and Sizes 1, 2 and 2-3
- Pampers Cruisers: Sizes 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7
- Pampers Baby Dry: Sizes 1 through 6
Pampers Swaddlers vs Cruisers vs Baby Dry: Feel and Effectiveness
How a diaper feels and how effective it is are two “same-but-different” aspects of finding the right diaper. You want the diaper to be soft so it doesn’t rub your baby the wrong way, but also to be absorbent and keep all the things in that it should. I think every parent makes the mistake of trying the cheap diapers once before realizing how important finding ones that fit right and don’t irritate your baby. Since the Swaddlers are made for younger babies, they are probably the softest, but the Pampers Cruisers do best at keeping liquids in while still maintaining it’s form. Each did a great job at keeping any “messy situations” contained, but our pick for best feel and effectiveness has to be the Pampers Cruisers.
Pampers Swaddlers vs Cruisers vs Baby Dry: Final Thoughts
Pampers make some of the best diapers on the market, and what it comes down to is choosing the product that best fits your baby’s age. Younger babies, that is babies that weight less than 16-18 pounds, would probably be best suited in Swaddlers. Once they get a bit bigger, we like Cruisers a little more than Baby Dry, but it really comes down to which brand you like best and which style looks the best on your baby if he or she is rocking the “Winnie-the-Pooh” look at home.
